Alexander Martin

Alex grew up in Aberdeenshire. He studied Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science at Heriot-Watt University, and Global Social and Political Thought at St Andrews University. Following his first degree, he joined the private banking division of the Royal Bank of Scotland via a graduate programme.

Having worked for Adam & Company in Edinburgh and Coutts & Co in London, he left the corporate world in 2019. His first major business venture was acquiring a loss making domiciliary care business, which he turned around, and sold in 2023 to focus on politics and human rights activism.

Since 2019 he's built wide ranging business and investment experience in a number of different sectors, ranging from waste management to real estate and resources. An active member of Rotary International since 2017.

In 2024 he handed in his resignation from the British Army reserves, having been a member for just under 4 years, so that he could stand as a candidate.
